Re: Nassau Coliseum

They would have nothing to lose at all and being on national television would make whatever the result is worth it.

Re: Nassau Coliseum

That would be incredible, esp. since game will be on national TV. We may get blown out but would still be great exposure for school.

Re: MBB Game 34 - CBI - Vermont - 3/18/15, 7 PM

The commuter school excuse is nonsense since half the students at Hofstra now live on campus and even the ones who don't are in the area so no reason they can't also be engaged with the team. It's really hard to blame the students, when they do show up and they have to watch a crappy performance fro...

Re: CIT & CBI Selection Thread

That would be a complete no-brainer for me as I'm sure it will be for the Vermont fans. If it were NIT then different story, but I can't imagine them being that motivated to drive 5 hours for a CBI game.

Re: CIT & CBI Selection Thread

I still can't excited about a tournament with no tradition like the CBI and the fact that so many schools turned it down should tell you something about it. If we win it, than great, but I won't be going bonkers.

Great stuff and is cool that Hofstra alum Tara Conry wrote the story.

CBI and CIT are a complete joke and wish they would be gotten rid of with NIT expanded.

I disagree Stu on playing a home game in one of these joke tourneys. It was a disaster when they tried doing that in 2010 with CBI so want no part of it.

Re: MBB Game 33 - CAA Semifinals - W&M - 3/8/15, 2:30 PM NBC

I can't stand CBI or CIT and wish they would go away so want no part of them. Yesterday was as bad as heartbreaking a way to end season as possible, but time to move on and prepare for 2015/16. If it were NIT I'd be all for it, but CBI and CIT are a joke and waste of time.

Agreed it would be terrible move! I like Hofstra's place in the CAA now and say we stick it out for now.

Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse

In fairness Polito they did win a ton of close games in 2008 and 2009. Since 2012 though the one-goal losses has been major frustration and it certainly is concerning. It also shows you though that we aren't far away.

Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse

That is too bad since this was going to be only Hofstra game on national TV this season. It is terrible how CAA hasn't pushed NBC Sports Network to air some games or at least the conference championship.

Re: 2015 Pride Mens Lacrosse

I just went through it and since Tierney took over in 2007 Hofstra has lost 15 games when leading after 3 quarters with the brunt coming since 2012. In his first five seasons from 2007 to 2011, Hofstra lost 5 games when leading after 3 but since 2012 have lost 10. 2012 was the first season without J...

Re: MENS LAX NEEDS CHANGE

Last year they lost to Marquette and then to Princeton and then rebounded with an 11-3 record the rest of the way and were the last team left out for an at-large. Marquette I think is shaping up to be a decent RPI this season I don't think this loss will be as much of a killer as it was last year, b...

I'm also very frustrated but let's see how this season plays out. This Princeton game will tell us a lot.

I see Marquette is building an indoor facility to be used by lacrosse and soccer teams. I wonder if we could ever build something like that to replace the bubble? Would certainly do wonders for recruiting.

That would be ideal but bubble isn't big enough unfortunately for a regulation size field.
