MBB at Towson

Post by ProudofPride »

The team has a quick turnaround (as all CAA teams will, every Saturday), and faces Towson tomorrow night at 7. TU has a good record, but didn't really play (or beat) anyone of note in the OOC schedule. Notably, the lost to LaSalle, and even Drexel managed to beat LaSalle. However, Towson managed to beat William and Mary last night in WIlliamsburg. Towson seemed to have our number last year, can we finally beat them this year?

This is a comment from a W&M fan after the game. If Towson sticks with a similar game plan for us, it could be a rough night unless we make some adjustments and Rokas is effective on the inside.
"I've watched every game I could either go to or see on the internet. This game wasn't nearly as bad or pathetic as many on these boards are making it out to be. Towson had a game plan to pound it inside and not give us lanes to the basket. They did both well. Notice that Prewitt didn't have his patented go to the hoop today. Without being able to penetrate our three balls weren't wide open. Many of the misses were contested or ill advised. Great coaching by Pat Skerry."

Big barometer game for us...on the road quick turnaround, they just beat William & Mary...I put this game in the toss up category that will ultimately determine how far we go this year.

So true HUSID80 - we are both coming off a nice showings - road game for us - time to break our 3 win trend and could be part of our season turn around

We're on SNY next week @ Elon. BTW, Drexel is only 4 points away from tying Elon with 26 seconds to go. The Dragons were down by 10 for most of the second half.

Yes, at 6:00 P.M. On January 23 SNY is showing Hofstra delayed at 6:30 P.M. That Hofstra game is at 4:00 P.M., and during the game SNY is showing the end of a Connecticut Women's game followed by a postgame and another show about that team.

http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcas ... islive=hof will have statistics. Towson is starting Byron Hawkins (guard), John Davis (forward), Timajh Parker-Rivera (forward), Mike Morsell (guard), and William Adala Moto (guard). Hofstra is starting Green, Tanksley, Gustys, Koon, and Bernardi. http://www.caasports.com/custompages/st ... m#team.ind has Towson's statistics. Towson plays great defense with a .393 opponents' field goal percentage and a .295 opponents' three-point field goal percentage.

Why is Green back in the game? The announcers say he's limping and we're up 16.

good question jojo. Green should not be out there. Rokas another big effort - 9 rebounds 7 pts at the half. Desure not playing like a freshman - looks very confident.

really nice half by the HU boys - up 45-27
Buie except for a last second turnover - 8 pts/8 mins/4 assists/ankle breaking crossover moves
Gustys solid - 7 pts/ 9 boards/ 1 foul
team shooting 53% from the floor - helped by 7 made shots in a row
great start boys - finish what you started

does anyone know who/what players travels/dresses with the HU team when on the road? they seem to have 10 dressed on the bench (the regulars starting 5 PLUS MN, DB, AW and JFW) and I am thinking the 10th is J Robinson..

With 11:35 left, two players (one on each team) have missed 5 free throws and nobody has made 5 free throws.

The team looks fantastic tonight! And Towson is a very good rebounding team, and we're currently out-rebounding them.

How did Towson ever beat W&M ... on the road?

And why aren't JWF and Walker in the game? We're up by 28.
