Rhoden helped lead Baldwin to the Long Island AA title today, defeating Half Hollow Hills West, 65-55.

Believe BU offered recently as well, so should mean academics are in order - kid has prototype size for the wing, if the talent is there the way it appears to be, I'd love to see HU land some big local talent

Time for 2017 recruiting to start heating up a bit too... Wouldn't mind adding another Roberto Gittens to the program!

‏@VerbalCommits
2017 Foss (WA) G Roberto Gittens has received an offer from Hofstra.

And from WA?? That's a new one for HU...

'17 is in FULL swing, no doubt. Expecting more offer news to continue.

Walter Whyte is out of CT. Elijah Pemberton tweeted after he announced he received an offer from HU. Could help us land him if they already know each other and are close. JWF helped recruit DB to HU, and DB helped us land EP. Let's keep this chain going, and have EP help us land WW, we'd love to have him!

I'm seeing a LOT of activity with other programs '17 recruiting - and not just bigs, CAA schools and local mid majors are landing visits AND commitments.

Yet HU is eerily quiet. Yes, there have been offers, and I get that they prefer the under-the-radar approach, and that's cool, but we should certainly hear/see some serious recruiting movement, considering the '16 class was unfulfilled with 3 key ships left open.

I don't want to see another class that needs quality bodies only to have ships go unused for whatever reason. HU needs commitments in the EARLY period this time, not just hoping for the NCAAT or some national coverage boost that may or may not happen. I want to see an aggressive all out blitz, a true shock and awe approach to recruiting in the '17 class!

This program needs to set the tone right this cycle. I would imagine we should see at least 2 commits in the early period if we expect to have a strong, full, class.

Too bad he doesn't respond to them.

Well to be fair to coach here, it really does depend on the question...

Some that are just way too pointed/direct and touchy in terms of what he's actually allowed to disclose, he will not or cannot answer - and that has to be expected.

Some that are more general in nature afford him the chance to craft his answers in a way that give us some cool tidbits to chew on while not putting himself or anyone else in any 'danger'

From what I've heard, this staff does seem to be responsive where they can be...

Exactly Polito...you hit the nail right on the head...coaches usually get back to me but they can not comment specifically unless a recruit is signed...that being said a lot of times in their replies you can read between the lines...send coach an email Polito and voice some of your concerns...there is nothing wrong with doing that

I really like our offers for our 2017 class...lots of talent there and I think there's room for another high-level program builder a la Buie or Pemberton to sign on board. Would love to get Ochefu from Philly.

Might need Jay Wrights help steering that young man here.
