darien williams, california kid, two years of juco, medical redshirt two years ago after dual shoulder surgery, one full season with st johns where he was a bench guy. looking for more playing time with a big transferring in. he graduated, so he's eligible immediately. athletic guy, can run the floor, known for his deep range, but didn't shoot any 3's last year after his surgery.

We will have 5 plus spots to fill. So 12 offers to fill 5 spots is about right

You want to know why the 2018 offers are so plentiful. Here is the reason We will only have 6 scholarship players on the roster as of now that includes Ray also only one player over 6ft 5 That means we need 7 recruits to fill the roster. Sorry that scares the hell out of me

This has been a strange recruiting period for sure. Definitely testing our patience. All of the activity that involved Hofstra seems to be for the 2018 class. It has been dead silent regarding '17 recruits. Is it because JAM is aiming too high? We are waiting for guys to make their decisions because they might have alot of options. I'm sure if the staff aimed lower, we would have already signed some guys, but why settle? Let's wait and see who we actually bring in. Wormley came out of nowhere and I think it is a solid pickup. We already have our scoring threats in the backcourt- JWF and Pemberton. Wormley seems like a winning type of player who can run an offense and play good defense at 6' 4. We need that. Powers had talent but wasn't the right fit, hopefully Wormley fits the bill.

If Williams from St. Johns is healthy, he is a good sized for the position. Remember, Trueheart is also expected to contribute. If we get 12-13 points and 8-10 boards from this position I think we are good.

Yea Truehart is a big wildcard for us. Tough to predict what will we get but if he does become a solid contributor it could change the whole season for us. Also of note didn't we not sign him until August.

I understand the frustration - I think we all have it at some level - but I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. I can't imagine they would throw a season away. I have to imagine they are waiting on answers from their top targets who are left at this point. I mean, who saw Goldwire ending up with a Duke offer? That came out of left field. Other kids may be trying to get the same.

There are 14 guys on the transfer list that can play next year and are 6'7" or taller and are listed as SF or PF. Many of the PF are actually inside guys like RG or HS. That leaves only a handful of guys who have the skills that we are interested in. And of that small group, some will not be interested in HU. I know it only takes one commit, but we are beginning to look at slim pickings. Maybe JM can pull the rabbit out of the hat! That being said, I am getting very worried that we will not have all the pieces we need next year. The 4 spot is key and the luck of staying healthy is key.

We must put a team on the floor that gets to the dance! I am not comfortable relying on ST (only because he is an unknown). And clearly TG cannot be relied on for steady play. JR is too small to play the 4. Assuming everyone (including DB) is and stays healthy, and there is more emphasis on defense (hopefully), I am OK with this team as long as the 4 is filled with a guy who can really play and make a difference.

With the entire front line of seniors next year (except for ST) we need some continuity from this year to next. Cant go into 2018-2019 with all freshman up front. Get the impact 4 now!

HUSID80...time and the pickings are starting to run out...in earlier posts you practically GUARANTEED staff would land an impact 4....do you still feel this way ???
