Calipari comments are quite impressive as well - this whole thing is a recruiting advantage if there ever was one

I was at the SJU game at the coliseum, an awesome HU win, and the first of a few more over the next few yrs as HU dominated the NYC college ball scene 8-)

Was a pretty good crowd too, 8k-9k or so - but UK should be jammed - whatever the new NC seats, if this is marketed properly, this game should absolutely SELL OUT.
I trust (long time) season ticketholders will be given preferential treatment of tickets - over general public and those jumping on bandwagon

I hate to say it guys but I have a feeling the Coliseum will not be ready by December 10th, 2016 and game will need to be played at Barclays...I hope I am wrong but completely renovating Coliseum in a little over a year does not seem realistic..so Polito, you were at St Johns game at Coliseum, so was I. That game was played the year after Speedy graduated and the stars were Norman Richardson and Roberto Gittens...we played a great game

A little bit OT, but tv appearances count as media! The episode of Cake Boss that was filmed at Hofstra for the Dutch Festival airs on Tuesday night (November 17) at 9.

Were you guys at this one back in '81?

My Dad and I were two of the 10,292.

LOL, Great quote from Louie here:

Oregon State led, 27-19, at intermission. But the Beavers moved to a 14-point lead in the first 11:26 of the second half, during which St. John's failed to score a single field goal.

This led Lou Carnesecca, St. John's coach, to say: ''I think the viewers must have had a tough time watching this. Do they leave and walk the dog or do they stay and watch? You looked up there and we couldn't score and yet they were only 8 or 10 points up.

This is Nassau County and the town of Hempstead. Politics, cost overruns , unions, and of course corruption and I dont see this all getting done till 2018 at least. well we wont have Kate Murray to stall things even further.

Remember HUSID80 its not Ratner but Nassau county politics rearing its ugly head. The only thing in Ratners favor is that Nassau county is in dire need of revenue. I can also see Kate Murray who was thrown under the bus by her own party leading the envionmental charge and holding up construction on this project. She may not want someone else taking credit for the new coliseum.look what she did with Charlie Wang and his lighthouse project.

Really hope you are right HUSID80...playing Kentucky across the street from campus would mean a lot more to me then playing them in Brookyn

I was thinking the same as far as Dec '16 being aggressive knowing how construction can go, but this is a money making event so i'm sure they will push hard to be ready - but either way guys, this game is sick regardless of where it's played, it's being played locally - that's what matters

Joe Lunardi just called Hofstra the best team in NY State, quoting a tweet that specifically mentioned St. Bonaventure and Syracuse.

That was written by Brian Mull, who used to blog UNC Wilmington for a newspaper.
