Now is as good a time as ever to focus on hopefully getting Hofstra sports back this fall, including our amazing women's soccer team which will be gunning for for fourth strait CAA crown and fifth NCAA appearance in six years. Simon Riddiough will be on for a q & a this Tuesday with details at link above. I consider Simon top coach on campus with eight NCAA appearances in 15 years.

I was thinking about the last Hofstra athletes to play in four NCAA Tournaments. Anybody on Softball for 2012 through 2015 did that. I'm surprised that Softball didn't have four consecutive seasons with CAA regular season titles and NCAA Tournament appearances. We won the regular season and CAA Tournament in our first season in 2002, but the CAA didn't get any team in the NCAA Tournament, and I don't know why. After winning the regular season and CAA Tournament from 2003 to 2005, our streak ended with a canceled game in 2006 and us finishing 0.5 games behind Georgia State before we won the CAA Tournament. We won regular season titles from 2007 to 2013, but we didn't win the CAA Tournament in 2009 or 2011. In Women's Soccer we didn't win the 2018 regular season title.

The 2002 team wasn't in NCAA since CAA was a new softball conference and didn't have automatic bid first two years. Luckily in 2003 we were able to get an at-large bid.
