Hofstra's extended road trip begins to wind down this weekend when we face UMass at the Barclays Center Sunday night at 7:00. The game is on YES.

Our good friend Isaac Kante is on the team.

The 7-1 Minutemen are off to a very good start. They won the Myrtle Beach Invitational, beating Colorado, Murray State and Charlotte. Their only loss has been to Towson.

UMass hosts UMass Lowell tonight at 7:00 on ESPN+.

UMass just lost at home to UMass-Lowell (America East) 80 - 85.
Caught the last few minutes on ESPN+. Of note: the announcers said that UMass was playing without two of their better guards who were banged up.

MBB notes for Sunday's game indicate Marshall will be starting in place of Estrada. So even though AE is out of his boot (but has been seen with the low tech removable brace on), looks like the staff is being cautious with him.

As they should be and maybe just maybe he can provide another big offensive spark for us. As some have said maybe he should be starting over Carlos and that could happen if we have another PG which I guess by default would be Estrada. So that has to be put on the back burner.

ESPN has this one basically even, but their spread (UMass -1) and percentage chance to win (Hofstra: 50.1%) are at odds with each other.

Thats the way its been with ESPN all year. The odds of winning vs. the have not matched up...maybe different soources?

Now ESPN gives US a 51% chance of winning. The consensus spread is us -1.5, and its spread is UMASS -1.5!!!!

The betting odds on ESPN just come from Caesar’s. And remember those odds are designed to make money for the casino no matter what happens not predict a winner.

Since it is the last game of a quadrupleheader, I am guessing that the previous games will take long enough that this game will start late.

Thanks Evan wasn't planning on spending any more time in that neighborhood then I have to. I originally thought this was an afternoon game!
