So what is our starting lineup going to be? Who will score the most points?

Kante, Pemberton and Buie are locks to start. I’d say Ray and Coburn are the others.

Our starting lineup was pretty much etched in stone based on the Gorchov interview with Joe. He says Buie, Eli, Coburn, Ray finally will be a starter and Kante. He stated they could all get 15 points a game and then you have Omar, Burgess and Cramer who he says is an ELITE athlete. Note no mention of Schutte, Stafford, Hughes or Miranda?? Nothing!!

Based on what HUSID said in a post under EXPECTATIONS that he heard Eli's injury wasn't serious I believe we're good to go. HUSID is privy to this kind of info. from the "powers that be"!

Moving into the season it will be interesting to see how the pecking order shakes out since there are people here that believe we will redshirt some players and the way Joe was talking about Cramer in this interview and what we all saw during the scrimmage it certainly doesn't appear that Cramer is sitting. Now the fate of Miranda could be an entirely different story but he didn't look like he was in over his head at all IMO.

I think you are right HM with those being the starting 5 - I prefer Ray off the bench (but heard coach say "Ray has earned his spot" - assume that means starting; I prefer starting Silvero just because he's a bit bigger then Ray (but also heard coach say OS "needs to better understand our D)....

Yes this makes sense why let a guy start who's not up to snuff on defense and anyhow at this point Ray deserves a shot at the starting position. We all know how D can be our Achilles heel so lets try to play the best defensive players.

Hofstra doesn't have a link to the statistics page yet, but San Jose State links to http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=266449 (not that it's necessary to have the link this far in advance). Neither team has written a preview yet, and Hofstra hasn't posted a 20192-2020 Media Guide yet. San Jose State is flying home after the game. I wonder what made them willing to come here and if we will go to them next season. I figured San Jose State would play at least one other game on the east coast, but I was wrong. Last season Cal State Fullerton came to us after three games in the Myrtle Beach Invitational.

I see that the coach of san Jose State has some local roots. In the early 90's he was the point guard for Fordham.
maybe he wants to renew some contacts and also recruit a bit in NYC.

I like Ray as a 6th man as well, but its possible Silverio is great in the "instant offense" role.

I'm not too worried about size at that spot since they I assume they will be playing 2-3 zone 90+% of the time and he'll be up top with Buie.

Might this be the year Hofstra men's hoops finally has good home attendance throughout the season?

Wednesday night's season opener is already a sellout and only limited tickets remain for Saturday's game against Monmouth.

How are they defining sellout this year?

The same way the LIRR defines "on time." :)

Guys, I will take any number above 4,500 each for attendance for both dates! All the staff in the ticket department deserves a well done! I am looking forward to what they can accomplish for the December dates. Maybe the attendance corner has finally been turned.

Looking at the roster, are Coburn and/or Trueheart graduating, or are they academic seniors who can be fifth year seniors next year?

Hofstra always lists it roster by academic year. Both have one more year of eligibility after this year.

Just quickly looking at San Jose's game notes it lists the probable starters as 6'10", two more forwards at 6'9", a 6'6" and the PG at 6'2". Could this be right? This is a huge team and while they clearly have the height advantage will they be able to guard and stay with our 6'5" wings. I wonder if they start these guys then make quick substitutions?

I think you are correct - I believe this will be our dilemma all year with our lack of height
And when we play these teams is where EP TC and OS get beat up
We are who we are
