So per V/C we have right now 40 offers for 2020. Of those 40 11 are PG'S, 13 SG'S, 11 SF'S, 4 PF'S AND 1 Center. That 1 center 6'10" Javarzia Belton has been mentioned somewhere in this thread was on the same prep team as Caleb Burgess Moravian Prep. Does this give us a leg up on any other school? If past history is any indication it hasn't helped us. We're recruiting Andre Curbelo who plays for L.I. Lutheran and is a 4 star PG who is being recruited by a lot of P5 schools. He's from Puerto Rico and has played with Jermaine Miranda on the Puerto Rico U/18 yr. old FIBA teams. We realistically probably have a zero chance of getting Curbelo. So with us losing Buie and Pemberton and holding one other scholarship who are we going after hard?? You have to bet that we will still be looking to get a center/ PF with one of those scholarships where we clearly appear to need help. I imagine we will go after another PG to replace Buie so where does the last scholarship go? This will probably depend on how well these kids play this year on what position we look to fill. I like an aggressive kid who can rebound and has size. I guess when you get down to it we will be replacing Buie and Pemberton with similar type players except maybe for Buie who we will be looking for more size and leaping ability.

Yes I guess what I was saying is who's going to come in for Burgess at the point?

Tough to get a top kid to sit several years.

In 2020 after Buie graduates the only PG we will have is Burgess right?? So nobody will be sitting because we know Burgess won't be playing 40 minutes. I know we have a lot of guards but no PG'S SO this has to be a big priority for us next year.

We don't know what Miranda is and we're fine this year with Buie and Burgess...if Burgess is what we think he is we would be better off bringing in a backup PG in 2021.

I'd tend to agree with HUSID on this one.

Here is where I feel we stand for 2020

As of now we will have the following:

CB, JM, OS, and JR as our PG and SG's
TC, ST, HH and KC as that wing type role we play with

So essentially those 8 guys for 4 spots; granted some of those are unknowns and could end up riding the bench. And probably 3 of those can play the PG position (CB, JM and JR).

Then IK, and KS for the center spot. Again with an unknown KS

Primary need would be backup and potential future starter for the center spot.

After that I would just focus on getting the best possible players we can for the last 1 or 2 scholarships. If that ends up being a PG then ok but not sure it is definitely a needed position in this recruiting class.

Basketball is unique in that you don't necessarily need one of each of the five positions on the court at all times. In baseball you can't just play an OF at 2B but in basketball you can have 4 guards out there or something similar. So essentially my point is let's just grab the best players we can.

Good one Stu it sounds like a bit of the old Abbott and Costello routine but IDK if we have ever gone without a backup or second PG. If something happens to your starting PG you could be in big trouble. When we had a sub-par Buie 2 years ago and Wormley was floundering we were really hurting at that position and the team revolves around a good PG. It's an important position. We have other players that can play the point but can they play it effectively. I believe that Silverio has played the point in his past so maybe that could be something to think about. I'm all about getting BIGS since they seem to be at a premium but a kid that can run the team and dish it is very important. We will see what happens but right now we have 11 offers on the table for next year for the PG position and that does speaks volumes.

Would take this kid Ard in a heartbeat. Have not seen too many 6'7" high school kids that can move like this kid.
My guess is that he starts to get some P5 offers before too long.

Clearly has some skills across the board; putting the ball on the floor, jump shot, shot blocker and has some leaping ability but what kind of competition is he playing against? That's what is hard to ascertain.

He already has had some unofficjals to several P5 schools. They must see something there.

Agreed, already listed at 6-5 and he posted on Twitter about his Hofstra offer. I guess all kids do that now!
