Field hockey beat VCU in a shootout. I don't think I've ever seen a field hockey game go that far. I guess I just assumed it would've ended after 2OT, like soccer.

Men's soccer played Dayton to a 2-2 draw

Field hockey has now been shut out in 3 straight games, following the season opening win. Lost 6-0 to Umass Lowell, 8-0 to Rutgers, and just lost 2-0 to Monmouth. Embarrassing.

Also our women’s soccer team dominated by #6 Virginia 5-1. They outshot us 27 to 2. Ouch!

Our women's golf team won their first team title since 2015. Definitely worth a shoutout. https://twitter.com/HofstraWGolf/status ... 7814484992

Good news. Wasn’t there a thread about how we should get rid of golf?

This is fall. The real season begins in late winter and spring. Let’s see if the team can finish anywhere but last in the CAA tourney

Congrats to our men’s cross country runner Alex Masai for winning the men’s CAAindividual title. The team did very well in coming in third. Evan is this the best finish for men’s cross country since we joined the CAA

The recap on GoHofstra says it's the team's best-ever finish in the CAA Championship. Alex is also the school's first runner to win the championship. One of freshman came in third, only a few seconds behind Alex. Even better that Hofstra was the host of the tournament, so there was a nice home crowd.

Btw, women's soccer knocked off the Blue Chickens 1-0 to advance to the CAA tournament semifinals.

Alex is junior from Kenya. I believe the freshman is also a Kenyan. Look at the long distant runners. Kenya seems to be worlds best country for long distant runners.

Women's soccer just upset Northeastern 1-0 to advance to the CAA championship game, next Saturday at JMU!

Northeastern had more shots on goal, 8 to 2.

I posted that the new format with the 2 seed hosting the 3 vs. 6 game didn't let Hofstra host the 3 vs. 6 game. What could have been good is that Hofstra would have hosted the Final if Charleston won at James Madison, but James Madison won 2-1. Can the Women's Soccer team win the CAA Tournament at James Madison like the Softball team did?

James Madison could have one of the worst days in their athletic history. Hofstra leads 1-0 at James Madison in Women's Soccer. James Madison is losing 21-3 at 2-6 New Hampshire in Football. The weather canceled an Elon at William & Mary game that would have been September 15, and Elon could win the CAA by half a game at 6-1 ahead of several 6-2 teams.

Hofstra didn't just win an upset, they had better statistics. Hofstra had more shots, 12 to 9, and more shots on goal, 6 to 2. James Madison had 5 yellow cards and Hofstra had none. The goals were by Lucy Porter at 13:24 and Sabrina Bryan at 56:08. https://portal.stretchinternet.com/caa/ ... Type=video is announcing the awards. I think you watch the game replayed whenever you want.

Great win for the Pride! Congrats to the team, Simon and his staff...always sweeter when we defeat JMU, THE SELF PROCLAIMED CAA powerhouse!
