Great win today on the road in DC. 4-0 on the season. Big game coming up next weekend.

The 4th quarter has been the weak spot for this team, letting opponents back in the game. I was glad to see them tighten up and give up 0 goals in the 4th quarter today. Also a great win with Josh Byrne being stifled on offense, he was held to only a few shots and no goals. Georgetown certainly didn't look like a team that's 0-4.

Good win, huge test next week. Will be a good gut check for the team, and it's definitely not a game they'll overlook. UNC will want revenge after last year.

Solid win today. We won with georgetown keeping Bryne in check. We have three good scoring options this year. Also we are deep at the faceoffs and solid in goal. So long as this team keeps its focus and hunger, we can play with anyone.

Need Clarke to come back from injury ASAP, Gallagher is adequate but Clarke is a top 15 FO specialist.

How long will it be before Clarke is ready?

Don't know if there is a timetable, a few weeks ago Tierney said it was a kind of injury that would be difficult to put an estimate on. I just hope it isn't a season-ender and he can back for CAA play.

lol oh I'm here...

And I'll be here on 5/6 and the weekend of 5/13 and 5/14. The question is, will HU?

4-0 is a good thing, just as it has been in the past. Since everyone seems big on perspective, let's use it here too:

NJIT is 0-5
Hoyas are 0-4
Monmouth is Monmouth (this is lax, let's relax about beating the Hawks)
Princeton is a solid W in name, only a decent W in actuality due to their program down. But their W over Hopkins def helps.

By my count, that's 1 nice W. But don't let me get in the way of the yearly hype train that is destined to fall horrifically off the tracks into a massive ravine because ST is at the helm. History and facts say keep your mens basketball excuses at the ready to re-purpose for lax. ST gets ZERO benefit of any doubt. He must PROVE.

A nice start has been proven meaningless under this coaching staff. Like I said, I'll be here for the CAA champ game and the NCAAT opening round. Let's see if ST can finally do the same.

Monmouth did beat #14 Villanova the first game of the season. They are a solid squad. Next two games against UNC and SBU will tell us if we are ready for CAA play. team also has injuries which they have compensated for. Like what I see from Byrne ,Kavanaugh and younger Tierney.

Hof just on the outside of the top 20 in IL's rankings, seems about right. Catch lightning in a bottle and beat UNC!

Very interesting podcast on the GoHofstra website with Coach Tierney. It may be the best of this series. Many interesting revelations including his texting to both 2017 Super Bowl coaches. The section on his relationship with Coach Danowski and his family was very touching. I hope this is the start of a new successful HU Lax run. The UNC game is on the website ESPN3 this Saturday March 11th at 2:30.

Agreed that the podcast was an amazing listen. Here is a link to it http://www.gohofstra.com/news/2017/3/7/ ... rosse.aspx

Among some of the interesting revelations was how he turned down head coaching job at Stony Brook in 2004 and a falling out he had at one point with Danowski that got patched up when he selected Seth to be assistant coach for USA national team last year. Seth really opened up incredibly in this podcast and Stephen Gorchov did amazing job with the questions.

Awesome podcast thanks for posting.

More important question: where can we get those retro jerseys the team wore on Saturday?

Danowski was probably furious at the complete dismantling ST performed of his 21 year legacy. I can only imagine how brutally infuriating it must be to have watched your years of blood sweat and tears to build something special go up in flames.

ST is lucky JD was willing to mend things.

Alas, regardless of my dislike and distrust for ST's HU Lax HC work, kudos to him for a great, honest, and transparent interview.

Now, go actually win something worthy of the respect he seems to command.

I don't think JD -- who is a very gracious man -- was upset with Coach Tierney. After all, he did choose Tierney for his USA Lacrosse coaching staff. Coach Danowski was probably more upset with our former AD Jack Hayes, who let him go.

As an aside, I don't want to get into a big debate about Coach Tierney with you, Polito, but would you let it rest? We know you don't care for him. Let the rest of us enjoy this promising young lacrosse season -- and any post-season opportunities that may follow.

If you listen to podcast you'll see that what prompted part of the falling out was JD being upset when Hopkins cancelled a game against Duke during 2006 season after what would become bogus rape claims were out in the media. It was obviously an emotional issue and combined with how his time at Hofstra came to a negative end and Tierney taking over probably led to some awkwardness for awhile. He explains how the issue wasn't completely ironed out until it came time for JD to pick his Team USA coaching staff and they aired everything out. I give Tierney tremendous credit for opening up about this on podcast and am thrilled as someone who is big fans of both men that they reconciled.

lol oh Jojo, alright alright - I'll ease for now so you all can enjoy the regular season while it lasts. I will be watching. And I will be here for what matters the most.

But just a little side note, I do this for a reason. Hatred is not it. Passion and love for HU and a true desire for it's success. As Wags stated in another thread, this is a perfect description that describes the situation around mens hoops and mens lax to the T, and our responsibility as the vocal TRUE fan community:

The Beautiful Wags Summary:
I mean, at some point, while we can defend the program to outsiders with pride (yes, pun intended), we internally can't ALWAYS be apologists for the program. It's OKAY to be honest with ourselves about results, to offer constructive, honest criticism, to admit (and not continually excuse) some past wrongs and to not defend EVERY thing the program does. That's the only real way to make true progress instead of repeating the same disappointing results.
