Hopefully as the weather gets better we should have bigger crowds at Shuart Stadium. On a side note we drew 1,411 for Providence. Yesterday the Stony Brook women drew 2,516 for USC. Those are the type of crowds we should be drawing on a regular basis. We have a great product. Need to reach out more to the community.

Not sure about that Stu. It isn't so easy for schools to add men's lax unless they get a serious financial backer like in case of Michigan.

Interesting. of all the power 5 schools to add men's lax would never have predicted West Virginia. There have been rumors of other schools adding it though that haven't panned out.

Ugly game so far. Tied 3-3 with St. John's, the Red Storm has dominated the second quarter, they've been on offense for 90% of the quarter, every time Hofstra gets the ball they turn it over. St John's has doubled up Hofstra in shots (14-7). Only 2 saves for Concannon with the 3 goals allowed, but it's hard to blame him when he's been so stellar all season, the defense around him needs to step it up.

Update: we were up 5-3 at halftime, now up 7-4 after 3. Kris Clarke started at the x and went 3-6, Tiernet then pulled him and put in Kyle Gallagher who is 8-8 on faceoffs.

Tierney and Byrne have both scored crazy goals, Tierney's was top-ten worthy.

Solid 9-6 win over St johns tonite. This coupled with UD beating #1 Rutgers 13-9 and the pride have a real good chance to elevate themselves into a top 4 ranking.

OSU lost as well, don't be surprised to see Denver+Cuse leapfrog us though.

Only 2 undefeated teams left, us and Penn State.

Next up is Fairfield, who has always given us a tough time. Delaware and Towson will also be tough games.

I'm not a big fan of some of the extreme analysis that goes on it sports, but I found this table interesting:

http://www.laxbytes.com/binmenstats17/ncaapb01.htm

Hofstra (USILA #7) not only has the third-best RPI, but also a better SOS than unbeaten Penn State (#1) and previously unbeaten Rutgers (#3) and Ohio State (#4). Notre Dame (#2) ranks first in both categories.

anything and 0 at this point in a season and involving program records deserves nothing but thumbs up.

I shall say nothing to jinx or bring anything other than positive mojo. This is good for all.

CAA time, and a bullseye the size of Texas on the collective back. Proving ground #2 awaits in conference play.

Hofstra U did a great feature on Jack Concannon for the "Humans of Hofstra" series. http://news.hofstra.edu/2017/03/30/winn ... n/?twitter

Concannon, Byrne, and Osman were all named Midseason All-Americans http://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/m ... cans/48896

Here is a great analytical breakdown of Hofstra's success so far. I'm very nervous for Fairfield tomorrow and CAA play in general.
