Certainly can't host guys for soccer and volleyball games - no offense to those programs, but that's not exciting recruiting juice for prospects the way football can be.

Not a new challenge obviously, but question popped in my head this past weekend reading about major hoops recruits doing OV's at schools with football. Speedy & Co. definitely have a recruiting strategy and approach that seems to be working overall, so I'm curious what we know about it during the fall period?
Do what St. John's Seton Hall, et al do. Invite them to the sham known as the Fall Festival LOL!!!!

Barrouk (#12):

wilmoth's "spanning the unispan" was posted today, may have been recorded a few weeks back.

The photos are correct but how much can you assume from looking at two pictures. We heard Barrouk talk about his injury on spanning the unispan. Recently Wilmoth on spanning the unispan and no discussion of his injury. Still need to hang our hat on Speedy's comments re maybe not being able to go at the start of the season.

A lot of photos now on facebook and for what it's worth quite a few pictures of Wilmoth practicing with the team. These appear to be from yesterday.

Some pics from the teams first "official" practice (9/25/23).

Did not see any pics with Wilmoth. Did see pics with Griffin, who appears to be 100%.

What's the deal with Myles Wilmoth? Is he on the roster or not. Still no pic on the roster.

Thank you for finding that. He gave Thomas the POY.

Zion Bethea, who transferred from us to St. Francis Brooklyn, is now on Delaware.

You're welcome Evan and to be honest I'm a bit surprised that there haven't been more comments on this in depth look at the CAA. This is full of JUST CAA in depth analysis of every team, players etc. It's like picking up a Street and Smith's magazine that's just dedicated to the CAA.

This is part of what I've mentioned before, and something I would like HU and Speedy to improve on. There is zero buzz or juice being pushed out from this program pre-season. You have to give fans some excitement - give us some insight - what the heck is happening right now?? No one knows. Zero information that is enticing to pull the fanbase in and get people energized for the season, which is now only weeks away. C'mon guys, have to do better than this when this is your flagship. Can't expect to build a buzz and grow a fanbase depending on your diehards and a couple of generic interviews with the same boring questions and comments. This isn't all that hard, it's called marketing - do better.

As for that article preview, ditto, fantastic job and a great read. I don't disagree with HU's spot, I think that's a fair take pre-season esp losing AE - BUT I'll say if HU finishes third with no postseason in Speedy's third year, that is not a success and will be a disappointment to me. He needs to get this program to the dance. Some may disagree, but 3 years is plenty in today's game, especially taking over an already winning program. Things don't take 5-10 anymore. Many do it year 1 thanks to the portal. A repeat NIT is minimum, and then dancing year 4. I'll take that as an alternative. But HU needs to get this program in the NCAA every 3-4 years or to have a multiyear run to matter, esp in a very winnable league. That needs to be the standard and the expectation under Speedy. This is all HU has nationally, have to be ALL IN TO WIN.

I think this season is going to be really interesting and should be really fun - Speedy & Co approaching with a different style, team cohesiveness vs pure individual talent - a brutal OOC, prob the best in the league I imagine, super impressed and eager to see them go at it. I think that is going to harden and toughen this team in a big way, and elevate their play. I'm def willing to understand that the first half may take some time to get things set. But come CAA play and CAAT in March, it's postseason or bust!

Well the pressure on Hofstra to win the conference tourney just increased even more.... NIT instituting a HORRIBLE rule change for this season and no longer giving automatic bids to regular season conference champs. Instead the 2 highest ranked NET teams from the power conferences that don't make the tourney get autobids, regardless of the records. Just absolutely screwing over the mid majors, hofstra likely wouldn't have gotten in under this criteria last season

Terrible!! Just one more step towards having P5+1 college sports and then everyone else just thrown into a group of "who-cares, no TV, no money teams".

Absolutely awful. Follow the money. The NCAA has become and perhaps always was just a pimp looking to score more.
