We won 1-0. Lucy Shepherd led with 5 shots, tied for the lead with 2 shots on goal, and scored the only goal in 66:30 in. All of our starters except for Ellen Halseth played at least 79 minutes, so I hope they're not tired on Sunday. Anja Suttner did not play. We had more shots (19 to 1), more shots on goal (7 to 1), and more corner kicks (10 to 0).

This game should have been at least 3-0. The offense except for the Charleston game has struggled to put the ball on net. 19 shots to 1 but only 7 on goal and we just get by 1-0. Northeastern already beat us 1`-0 and we need to score early and often to get by a very strong NU squad.

I was out today, so I'm starting to watch now.

Edit: We came back to beat Northeastern 2-1. The goals were by Rose Kaefer at 17:20, Lucy Shepherd at 24:51, and Miri Taylor at 58:19. Taylor broke our team season record with 42 points. We had more shots (13 to 4), more shots on goal (5 to 3, but it looked like more Northeastern shots than that), and more corner kicks (5 to 1).

https://www.flofc.com/events/7132600-re ... ng=7204189 has the game for people who pay for Flo.

https://gohofstra.com/news/2021/11/7/wo ... nship.aspx is titled "WSOC: Hofstra Captures 2021 CAA Championship."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMPHZIa6MvI has highlights that last 2:16.

https://twitter.com/CAASports/status/14 ... 46368?s=20 has 2:48 of scenes before, during, and after the game. It shows the goals from field level. It's the same thing as the CAA does for the Men's Baskteball Tournament where every game has a highlights video, and a scenes video.

Lucy Porter won Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

Elon's stadium is designed so you can't see the near sideline from the overhead camera, so you can't see when the ball goes out of play, and you can't see throw-ins.

The Selection Show will be tomorrow at 4:30 P.M. on ncaa.com

Edit: One announcer said the announcers needed to stop talking about something else because Hofstra was attacking, and that's when we scored the winning goal.

Am very happy this amazing team is once again CAA champions and to accomplish it after falling behind early shows their true toughness. With a 24 RPI be interesting to see if we get a first round home game. I'd say 50-50 odds, but NCAA committee usually doesn't give us benefit of the doubt sadly.

We host Providence. If we win, we face 2 seed North Carolina or South Carolina. Each region has four seeded teams, but if it is bracketed the same way as Men's Basketball, our Second Round opponent shows that we were equivalent to a 7 seed. Two years ago we faced 1 seed Stanford in the Second Round, meaning we were equivalent to an 8 seed.

https://portal.stretchinternet.com/hofs ... Type=video has video of our NCAA Tournament game hosting Providence. We dominated the first half with shots 12 to 2 and shots on goal 4 to 11. The goals were less than five minutes apart by Georgia Brown at 26:03 and 30:59. At 2:00 P.M., North Carolina hosts South Carolina, with us playing the winner if we hold on.

10 of the 16 seeded teams played so far, and they are 8-2. Samford beat 4 seed Auburn 2-0, and UCLA Irvine beat 2 seed UCLA 1-0. That makes it eaiser for 1 seed Duke to win that region. Samford will play St. John's or Brown, who are playing now.

Edit: The second goal was changed from Brown to Lucy Porter.

Edit: There is a weather delay early in the second half.

https://gohofstra.com/sports/womens-soc ... core/11666 has the box score of our 3-0 win. Georgia Brown, Lucy Porter, and Miri Taylor scored. Shots were 16 to 5, shots on goal were 6 to 2, and corner kicks were 9 to 2. We play South Carolina, who beat 2 seed North Carolina 1-0. I was thinking about if North Carolina losing would let us host next week, but if the best remaining seed hosts, we go to USC, who is a 3 seed and leads Grand Canyon 4-0 at halftime. If we beat South Carolina, we play USC or Penn State.

Edit: https://gohofstra.com/news/2021/11/13/w ... round.aspx says Lucy Porter got her 123rd point to break Leah Galton's team career record, and he got our team record 13th shutout.

Amazing win and atmosphere until weather delay. With South Carolina upsetting UNC we have a winnable second round game, but will still be tall task.

This is incredible to see, and HU could really put it's name on the true national soccer map if it can beat USC and go deeper into the brackets. Amazing opp, what a program - one of the best overall at HU.

New to the forum but following this site for years! I definitely agree that this program has the talent level to go super deep into the tournament! Going to need big games and defense from everyone! USC has a 6footer on their team, potentially an equalizer

Hofstra says the game will be on Pac-12 Plus that anybody can watch online. They linked to the USC (Southern California) page, and the video schedule has their game but not our game. I hope there is video, and I wish the NCAA would show the games directly or give them all to ESPN rather than host schools controlling how you watch. Even if there isn't video tomorrow, there will be video on Sunday if we play Southern California. We play tomorrow at 2:00 P.M. (11:00 A.M. local), and if we win we play at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday.

It's pretty remarkable that both of our soccer programs have made it to the round of 32. I was able to take my daughter to the Providence game right after her own soccer game on Saturday. The stands were packed and the crowd was very enthusiastic. The atmosphere and the team's great play were very impressive. We enjoyed it greatly and will be locked in to this afternoon's game. Hopefully one or both of our teams advance to the Sweet 16.

The NCAA says we lead 1-0 when we trail 1-0, and https://pac-12.com/live/usc has video that opened with an ad for Glenn Youngkin, who was elected governor of Virginia 17 days ago, so we could lose and do a better job than the NCAA and the Pac-12 choosing ads.

I'm not a soccer expert by any means, but credit to South Carolina, they played a better game and deserved the win. They controlled possession in the 1st half and looked very organized defensively the entire game. Hofstra did have a great chance off of a corner kick late in the 1st half but the point blank header somehow went over the bar and they also hit 2 crossbars in the 2nd half so they could have scored 3 goals themselves. They attacked in the 2nd half and never gave up, good effort. Hopefully the men's team comes through against Penn State

Congratulations to Simon and his team on a historic season.

We took it to South Carolina almost all game but the shots just weren't falling...soccer is tough that way.

Now let's hope our men wreak havoc on Penn State!
