Eligibility extended

All winter athletes, even if they compete this year, will get an extra year of eligibility and an extra year to complete it. Big news!

Wonder if this had anything to do with the slow recruiting process as well. If ray and coburn stay another year it really changes how we recruit.

No mention of this only applying to seniors - so this has major impacts on recruiting and other aspects.

So if the JUCO transfer is a real gem, we could have him at the point for 3 years
As long as you have the season roster spaces open, there will be little reason for our freshman to red shirt. Put them on the roster and maybe they get some more game experience or can serve as insurance in case of injury. Heck, they have 5 years to play anyway.
Coburn is a smart guy, I'm sure hell be graduating this year, but maybe he stays to start his graduate studies.

Lots of possibilities - this could really shake things up for all D1 teams. Add to it the possibility of a "one time no sit out transfer rule" and it would be quite a shake-up.

Huge news, and the right thing for student athletes this year across the board. Will be very interesting to see who for HU takes that opp... having players another year older can reap big benefits, for both the player and the program.
