You're right. I did not remember that.triplec2195 wrote:Evan if I remember correctly we were picked first in Green's senior year?? Teams make money from unused tickets, albeit not as much as if fans bought food, merchandise, and/or parking (free for Hofstra but not for pro teams). Jenkins's last and fourth-to-last home games had 5,050. I can't find Game Notes of the capacity from then, but the capacity last season was 5,052, so it was equal or close to that in 2010-2011. We averaged 3,073 in 2010-2011, which is our second highest average since 1998-1999 behind 3,623 in 2006-2007. In 2006-2007, Stokes, Agudio, and Rivera, returned, but a weak frontcourt made us a good but not elite team. That was the only time we were picked first in the CAA. We lost at Delaware, who was last in the CAA standings at 3-15. We're at 1,720 now, and if we don't improve it will be our seventh consecutive season under 2,000.triplec2195 wrote: The first game I think we had 4,500 people here clearly not a sellout but let it suffice to say there's going to be a lot of people here and that's a huge plus.
Yesterday raised the percent of our minutes outside the eight players with the most minutes from 3.1 percent to 3.3 percent. Charleston is over double that at 7.0 percent, and Northeastern is over triple that at 10.9 percent. We were at 9.0 percent last season.

Maybe they did an analysis and determined that they would maximize ticket sales by sacrificing some seats and use the space for entertainment. Maybe without the attractions they only would have sold 3500...EvanJ wrote:You're right. In addition to the sell-out, JWF need 19 points for 2,000. He should able to reach that mark today. A little ceremony would be great.

It's always a good time when we win and hopefully not a one possession game or any O/T's!! Lets cover the spread.Cards wrote:Sounds like many of those remaining "sold out" tickets are selling on teh secondary market. Great to hear!

Even if the attractions don't help attendance, we're rarely going to sellout where a capacity of 400 more would have provided much more revenue, especially if they were the cheaper seats.joeg1 wrote: Maybe they did an analysis and determined that they would maximize ticket sales by sacrificing some seats and use the space for entertainment. http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=237156 says both teams are starting their usual starters. William & Mary is starting Luke Loewe (sophomore guard), Nathan Knight (junior forward), Chase Audige (freshman guard), Justin Pierce (junior forward), and Matt Milon (redshirt junior guard).

Re: MBB Game 25 vs W&M on February 9, 2019 - Sold out
The video said it wasn't live, and clicking "LIVE" made it go farther behind. Then it stopped working. I'm listening to the Hofstra announcers. I'll try the video again later.
Edit: We're down 6-4 but have the ball after the timeout. Coburn committed his second foul 3:40 in, and Ray came in. Taylor has 3 rebounds and Justin Pierce has 4.

Little Napoleons have a 7 point lead, with 2 free throws after the time out. They're shooting 71.4% and have made their last 8 shots....

Humiliated at home by one of the worst teams in america
Truly shameful.
Kids should have their scholarships revoked for this gutless effort.
Check the boys for slizzes.

44 points in a half at home to the 227th best offense in the nation?
That’s not gutting it out.
That’s a shameful and humiliating lack of effort.
