Very nice to read that Hofstra is pre-season favorite.
It also appears that they an excellent entering freshmen class upon checking their credentials.

We have a lot coming back plus Jill Mulholland. On paper we look good but it has to translate on the field. We lose Emily Morphis our goalie but our German goalie Frederica played a lot last year. After speaking with Simon he assured me her English is better and the communication problems from last year have been minimized for this coming year.

The scrimmage is vs Maryland. Should be a very good scrimmage, as the terps were ranked third in the big 10 preseason poll.

I left during the first half with a few minutes left and Hofstra had a 1-0 lead. Anyone know how the rest of the scrimmage went. We did look good and dominated much of the first half.

I left a few minutes after you, Stu. Maryland scored on a rebound in front of the goal. Nice play by them.

I thought our team was very solid. Leah Galton was the best player on the pitch. She had two amazing runs down the left side that were lightning-fast. During warm-ups, she was booming shots into the goal from outside the box. A true All-American candidate.

According to Jojo we lost 4-1 to Maryland . The good news is that they are preseason #2 in the country.

Jenna Borresen started in net and gave up the one rebound goal in 70-75 minutes or so. Melissa Kress I believe came in for the last few minutes and gave up the last three.

Jenna is listed as defense and midfield but she played goalie in high school.

Stu, I was there. Difficult to follow without #s. Galton was one of the few HU players I knew. Didn't realize we had 2nd & 3rd string in goal.
BTW Stu, Maryland is good, but its the men who are #2 in the country. The women were picked #3 in the Big Ten.

Was at the UConn game last night. Galton was injured in 2nd half and had to be helped off. didn't look good.
Anybody hear anything about the injury?

Nice win today despite some early struggles on D in the first half. Galton played about half the game and Sam with two goals,Stobbs with one and Jill Mulholland with the other completes the scoring for Hofstra. Will be interesting to see what Simon will do with the goalie rotation.
