Re: MBB Recruits 2018
At the risk of being redundant I found this article that had info. on Hal Hughes from PREP HOOPS it's a few months old and talked about big kids that were still unsigned. Here's the paragraph about the PHANTOM;
Hal Hughes, SCS
At 6-foot-9, the Class of 2018 prospect is a knockdown shooter who can get hot in a hurry. While he entered the United States as strictly a 3-point ace, he’s become more efficient as a knockdown guy from 18-20 feet. He’s still adjusting to the physicality of the American game, as the Australian must pack on muscle to a spindly 185-pound frame. Division-I programs such as Austin Peay and Weber State have expressed interest in Hughes, citing upside and a feathery touch that’s translatable to the ensuing level of play. It's not much but it's something!

Per V/C Tramaine Isabel Grad student transferring from Drexel. Now what we need is a few N.E. starters to transfer and let's not forget COC!

So that’s the formula for winning the CAA. Just deplete the rosters of the other CAA teams

Re: MBB Recruits 2018
It's a nice idea Stu especially when u r having trouble adding commits to your own roster u hope everyone else gets depleted. Lol It's a double edged sword though as the CAA RPI will take a hit. We're about to lose some of the leading scorers in this conference with Chealey graduating, Zane Martin transferring and now Tramaine Isabell. If Justin leads it would be a major loss both for the conference and us obviously.stuball888 wrote:So that’s the formula for winning the CAA. Just deplete the rosters of the other CAA teams

Much too quiet here where things should be buzzing. A recent grad student transfer from U Mass Center Malik Hines 6'9" 240 a 3 star kid from Jackson, MS. I feel the need to keep the candle still burning and hopefully someone out there will post some inside info. on who we're chasing at this late stage!

You're right triplec, way too quiet on all fronts for my liking.....

Thanks SID where is everyone?? I'd even take some negative postings right about now with the clock ticking no rays of hope for us to try and get excited over!HUSID74 wrote:You're right triplec, way too quiet on all fronts for my liking.....
Re: MBB Recruits 2018
According to verbal commits HU offers lots of 2019 and 2020 kids. No indication as to who we're looking at right now for next seasons yet to be filled key positions. Don't know what to think.

Re: MBB Recruits 2018
Offers r offers but what about 2018? Before the window closes who r we recruiting right now to fill 2 spots in the PF Center positions?? Seriously are we getting close to signing anyone?? Cm-on there r kids out there to fill these voids. As much as I like Trueheart I shutter at the thought of Stafford being our biggest player on the court.Cards wrote:According to verbal commits HU offers lots of 2019 and 2020 kids. How ugly but he's not eligible to play this year but a good acquisition for Delaware. I'm hoping there's a silver lining in all these disappointments and we're not pinning our hopes on Schutte and Trueheart in the front court. Please Joe say it isn't so!!!!DCDUTCH wrote:Pat Lawless

"silver lining"....from your lips to Gods ears - I hope you are right triplec2195 - but for me each passing day (and with each player signing elsewhere) makes me less and less optimistictriplec2195 wrote:How ugly but he's not eligible to play this year but a good acquisition for Delaware. Seldom-used at Purdue, 6-10, 240-pound grad transfer Jacquil Taylor is coming to Hofstra after three years as a Boilermaker:

OK! A live body who can play in the paint. Purdue is stacked with talent and he barely played, so who knows what kind of player this guy is. He was a 3 star recruit out of high school. 6'10" and looks to be athletic and can block some shots.

He practiced everyday against "bigs" that we dont see in the CAA - there is the "silver lining"cactus wrote:OK! A live body who can play in the paint. First impressions— YES!
Huge body, shot blocker, AND can step out to the 3-point line. Sat behind and practiced against guys like Isaac Haas and AJ Hammond for 3 years. Had some injury issues, but sounds like a great flyer to take on someone for next year... a profile that matches similar grad transfers from the past like Koon and Zeke.
