Re: JWF in the NBA Bubble
Probably like all of us I was surprised and disappointed in JWFs' action. His follow up " ain't apologizing for nothing I said" showed a closed mind, immaturity and in punk talk no less. It reflected poorly upon him and everyone and thing he cares about including Hofstra. What he understoo...

Re: Campus plans for 2020-21
I am proud of how Hofstra has responded to the extraordinary challenges of Covid 19. The planning is impressive. I wish I could say the same about our government.

Joel Kislin
Condolences to the Kislin family on the passing of Joel one of the all time great Hofstra wrestlers. I remember how excited Bob Getchell our then wrestling coach, later to be AD, was to land Joel. A 300 lb national JC champ whose sole sport was wrestling. He placed 3rd in the NCAAs' in 73 while comp...

Re: Helping pass the time during the pandemic
Boy from NY City and Trickle Trickle are 2 of my favorites as well along with Gloria. Birdland was the number they probably spent the most time on honing and perfecting.

Re: Helping pass the time during the pandemic
How these times have affected our lives and what we are doing to pass the time were excellent topics to introduce. They probably haven't gotten the response they deserve. I want to thank you for the gift of Foxes and Fossils, despite loving harmony, blue grass, country and more, I had never heard of...

Could do either but would prefer Sat. afternoon as well. Let me know how you wish me to get my e-mail to you; not sure what the board permits.

Re: Best basketball team in Hofstra history?
Thanks Wags for posting your fine article and all on this board for your support of alma mater and the links you provide and info on recruiting. With athletics being shut down I kind of feel like this is a good-by for a while. It was a heartbreaking end to a great season. As a student I suffered whe...

Re: 2020 CAA Men's Basketball Tournament
Congratulations and thanks to all in the Hofstra community for the part they played in creating this wonderful moment. Nothing succeeds like success and hopefully this will help to serve as a springboard to even greater things. The joy of the staff and team and affection they have for one another is...

Re: MBB Game 27 vs. UNC Wilmington on 2/15/2020 at 4:00 P.M.
I share the boards enthusiasm for how we are playing, our improved defense and disappointment in our last 2 crowds. Kantes' development and increasing contribution is a big plus and drawing 13 fouls is indeed an amazing stat.. Another amazing, frustrating and concerning stat is 18 minutes of bench t...

Re: 2019-2020 Women's Basketball
No doubt we have a really bad team but I am very optimistic about the future. Coach Atkinson inherited a weak roster and little opportunity to impact it in her first year. She has added a 6 3 transfer from Pittsburgh who should be good. Her 2 early signings were Selma Markisic a 5 6 guard from Xavie...

Re: Around the CAA Talk
I had Irving and Nissenson in mind also. Irving was a rugged 6 9 transfer from Arizona. It seems very unlikely my recollection on this is correct but I thought he led the nation in rebounding as a frosh at AU. I met Steve Nissenson at the HC game in Boca. Nice guy, still looks in shape. I saw him pl...

Including Stony Brook who received some nice press via a write up on their upcoming opponent UVa. They opened with a very good Yale team, then Seton Hall and played Providence after us.

Re: MBB Game 8 vs Holy Cross 11/29/19
Yes, we did meet up, nice to put a face and name to one of the posters. Great game by Buei, 5 assists, 4 steals and no turnovers. Nice to see improved foul shooting from Kante and coach using the bench more. As has been noted HC is a bad team, the play ragged at times and too many easy buckets given...

Re: MBB Game 7 vs. San Diego 11/27
HUSID74, I'll be in Boca on the 1st and at Duffy's, 82, glasses, full head of grey hair, wearing a Hofstra bball shirt. I agree with much that has been said. We lack an adequate post presence and interior defense. Kante looks like Tarzan plays like Jane; not that athletic, Schutte showing more promi...

Re: MBB Game 5: at UCLA (Thu 11/21, 11 pm ET)
Dutchalumo1, I have been an intense Dutch/Pride fan since eighth or ninth grade some 69 years ago. I used to convince older friends who could drive to attend Hofstra athletics for years before I entered as a student in 1955. I was a gym rat when I was there and stayed in touch with many of the coach...

Re: MBB Game 5: at UCLA (Thu 11/21, 11 pm ET)
Wow, I confess to always having great hope but modest expectations. When we couldn't seem to stop them and were down 30-19 at around the 10 minute mark I went to bed. I am 82 with a heart condition so my cardiologist would be happy. It is now around 3:30 and I got one of the more pleasant shocks of ...

Re: MBB Recruits 2019
Like, I'm sure a number of us on this board, I schmooze with coaches from time to time although it seems to have gotten more challenging to reach them over the years. I make it a practice not to post anything concrete unless I know it is OK to. Joe being superstitious; my experience is you get very ...
