Re: Columbia game
I'm not up there often these days but it's a college atmosphere with a selection of places. I think I tried a Mexican (soutwestern?) place on the west side of Broadway around 113th which was fine but I'm sure you'll find a variety of choices. Sorry to not have a specific recommendation. Enjoy the ga...

Re: MBB Game 10 - @ Columbia - 12/20/14, 7 PM
I think you are right HUSID/ Columbia has a number of bigs including a former HU recruit from L.I. named Luke Petrasek. With their best player gone for the year, they are more of a guard oriented team that can rotate about 4 bigs but really only one big that is effective. If Gustys is back and effec...

Columbia game
The game at Columbia should be a good one. If you have never been to Columbia, think about going to the game. The university is located in Manhattan between Broadway and Amsterdam with the main entrance on 116th st. It's a nice campus and is very safe as is the neighborhood. Many of their students w...

Re: MBB Game 08 - @ Appalachian State - 12/7/14, 2 PM
The lack of disclosure around injuries is designed to keep the opposition a bit unsure of what to prepare for. I think upcoming teams will be better able to plan for and exploit the front court issues so nothing is too easy. Stu we have won 1 game on the road...Jackson State. Any road wins are good ...

Drexel tonight
Watching Drexel tonight vs. Southern Miss. Dallas Anglin playing a bunch of minutes for Southern. (Anglin picking up his career after being part of the mess at Hofstra )
Drexel up comfortably at the half.
Drexel up comfortably at the half.

Sorry guys...I threw my money away I guess. I just assumed a home game would be showing their 1st home game.

Kone and his cane
I noticed Kone hobbling around with a cane tonight. Is it possible that he has had some surgery on his knee? last year Nesmith had some early season knee surgery and was back for the CAA season. My suspicion is the prayers Kone was asking for on twitter may have had to do with knee surgery. i am mer...

Re: MBB recruits 2015
I know HU was recruiting Cain. When he de-commits, any school that had medium interest prior to his commiting, regains that "medium interest" label. I would love to have a big guard like him, but I suspect he is shooting above the mid-majors if possible.

Re: MBB OOC Schedule 14-15
Jojo these may be the 2 College b'ball teams I follow most closely. HU was my 1st college team to watch and admire since I was 12 years old. I went to Columbia undergrad during their prime b'ball years (1969-"73). I then went to HU for grad school. The 2 players who won't play won't make much d...

Re: Former HU B'ball commit Gabe Levin
I don't know the kid but here are his circumstances;First he committed to Hofstra and then Mo cassara was fired. None of the 6 recruits who Mo recruited were either invited or chose to come to a new coaching staff. Not unusual, the ties that a high school kid are with the coaches who recruited him, ...

Re: MBB recruits 2015
I certainly think PT will be a big part of the decision. You have Green a senior and Gonzalez a sophomore at the point next year assuming Gonzalez pans out nicely. Manhattan will have no one at the moment standing in Buie's way. Since we lost Lawrence and former Mo commit Rich Williams to Manhattan,...

Former HU B'ball commit Gabe Levin
Do you all remember 6'8" forward Gabe Levin? He was a commit for Mo who de-committed when Mo was fired. He had a fine freshmen year at Loyola Marymount, but then transferred to Marquette. This is his redshirt year. Marquette has a great incoming (2015) class coming in and they have seemed to hav...
