Re: Transfer Portal
I think we all knew this was coming, but still sad to see it officially. Aaron Estrada announced he's entering the portal... https://twitter.com/Aaron4PF_/status/1643282833614467077 Not very surprised here - nothing more to prove at the mid-major level, but he can definitely showcase at a P5 school...

Now that one is surprising. He had a clear path to playing time. Very curious. Unless the staff made it clear to him that he's not in the future plans.

Re: Unfinished business
Well - as jaspegs posted on the Transfer Portal thread, Marshall is transferring out, so i guess he felt the playing time wasn't going to be there and/or he fell our of favor with the staff this year (his PT diminished quite a bit in conference play with no explanation). Makes me think that this sup...

Re: Unfinished business
Have a few thoughts I wanted ot get out (sorry for the length) I think Hofstra should be going hard after 4s in addition to an experienced 5. I was always hoping Dubar would be that 4, but he seems to like to play on the perimeter more with the ability to drive. He unfortunately is not a big factor ...

Re: 2023 NIT
Regarding the crowd it seemed like more people than the attendance figure states. Agree it was the best and loudest crowd of the season - it’s not even close. However, it was nowhere near what the Rutgers crowd that I was at on Tuesday. That was rowdy start to finish. That said, I don’t think you ca...

Re: 2023 NIT
Just got my tickets for Saturday. Trending towards SELLOUT! Lets make it happen!! Just got mine too and they said they think sell out to me as well. I watched some of the Cincy game last night. They are big and physical for the most part - probably similar bto Rutgers in that aspect, but they looke...

They said on the broadcast that they are ripping up the Cincy floor starting tomorrow. So hopefully that is true. [emoji1696]

Re: 2023 NIT
I'm really happy to see FOR A CHANGE the overwhelming positivity from this board. Amazing how uplifting a big win can be. On the one hand you look at the post from FD that at one point had defeat written all over it and 15 minutes later it was like we were cutting down the nets at Rutgers. So for s...

Re: 2023 NIT
What. A. Game! I just got home and so happy I went. Going against a huge crowd (+ 3. Refs honestly). I haven’t been to too many road games - nothing like this. If the fans weren’t into it because of disappointment from missing the NCAAs, you could have fooled me. The stands were reverberating when t...

Re: 2023 NIT
Kinda figured that I guess your wife likes basketball?? Or maybe just being a good wife Lol. Hope we get a win and you're not driving all that distance to be disappointed. Good wife - yes. Though she has really started following basketball this season. This is the loudest arena I’ve been in for a H...

Ha - thanks triplec. I went all in this year I guess. It's a 2 hour drive for me, so a little late for the boys on a school night. Just the wife and myself today.

Re: Women's basketball Final 3/12
How shocking for a 7 seed to win 4 in 4 (first time ever apparently). To think it was to a team Hofstra played well against too. Monmouth knocked out the 1, 2 and 3 seeds. They earned it in gthe tournament. I think i saw Towson and Drexel are getting WNIT invites last night, but didnt have details y...

Re: 2023 NIT
Any guesses on who Hofstra will play? When I saw Rutgers didn’t get in, I made the assumption that it could be Hofstra-Rutgers. I don’t see Hofstra getting a home game

Re: Woman's basketball quarterfinal game vs. W&M 2/10
yes - agreed. I think they played very well in the tourney. Also agree tc if they bring back most of this team they should be middle of the pack preseason ranking. i think they proved to themselves if they play good D and limit turnovers they can compete. They will need to make up Brandy's scoring a...

Re: Woman's basketball quarterfinal game vs. W&M 2/10
Complete turnaround at the end of the 2nd - Hofstra goes ice cold with Swift and Thomas on the bench with 2 fouls each and W&M finally hit shots and did so in bunches. Hopefully the team can regroup at halftime. They need to find better shots on offense - settling for 3s or rushed shots at the e...

Re: Woman's basketball quarterfinal game vs. W&M 2/10
we may be few but we are passionate! I know it wasn't a great seaosn, but this team is very likable.
Solid 1st quarter. Von Essen hit a few big shots and the are paying good D so far. Keep it up!

Re: Woman's basketball quarterfinal game vs. W&M 2/10
I believe! Key to yesterday was the 3 point shooting and defense - hopefully that can continue. In yesterdays post-game, they asked the A&T coach about our 3 point shooting. I think we may have only hit one the last time they played? Did you expect that from 3? He simply replied - No, I didn't e...

Re: Women's basketball 2nd round vs NC A&T 3/9
Stu u gotta believe we're playing our BEST BASKETBALL. Can it continue?? Our last regular season game we lost by 19 to them I think. Ineza had a bad game and Emma just a so so game. We will be more competitive tomorrow. Oddly enough - we lost to NC A&T by 19 when we played them during the seaso...

Re: Women's basketball 2nd round vs NC A&T 3/9
Great game by the women here - agree may be the best one I've seen all year. Played well defensively and really shot well from the perimeter. I think Fargo and Knights had back to back threes at one point?!? Hopefully they can use this confidence moving forward. Nicholson's on ball D is really great...
