Re: MBB - LaSalle
All four CAA teams won tonight, with Towson handling George Mason pretty easily. CAA showing the A10 how it's done! I know we almost let this one go but to take a game from an A10 team in their place is always a good win. Does anyone else think the finishing issues are a depth/exhaustion problem or ...

Re: Paradise Jam 2015
Awesome win, and I'm excited for the game against South Carolina, who probably has a lower talent ceiling than FSU but more experience and discipline. I looked through HU stats thus far this year and here are some very early observations: A lot of our depth complaints stem from how quickly our guys ...

Re: MBB Game 1 - Canisius
Thanks for the heads-up. Why does Juan'ya take threes? It's the worst part of his offensive game.

I'm only following the stats. What's the crowd like? It seemed like we did better when Malik was in. I hope Joe plays him more this year.

Re: MBB Game 1 - Canisius
I've done a bit of research on Canisius and I have to say I like this as a first-game match up. They're no Jacksonville State. Last year they beat Stony Brook and Iona, and they had a lot of close losses. Jim Baron will bring make sure his team is ready to play. Let's let Rokas go wild on the glass ...

The Chronicle goes to print tonight, and it looks like the writers and editors have done a great job compiling an assortment of basketball previews for both the men and women: http://thehofstrachronicle.com/eight-things-to-know-about-the-hofstra-mens-basketball-schedule/ http://thehofstrachronicle.c...

St. John's
St. John's lost by 32 (!!!!) to D-2 St. Thomas Aquinas in a scrimmage last night. They had 28 turnovers. No wonder they won't schedule us!

Re: Media Thread
Hofstra is 22nd in the mid-major preseason poll. CAA teams receiving votes are JMU, Northeastern, UNCW and W&M, in that order. People love Iona, they're selected 6th.

Re: Cross Country
When I've spoken to Giambanco it seems like he has a clear plan and an understanding that building this team up is a long-term assignment. He's done very well.

Re: Mens Basketball 2015-2016 predictions
I feel like Blue Ribbon is really sleeping on Northeastern. I think they're top 3 in the CAA still.

Wow, what a win. We have a handful of teams that already look like they could push for conference tournaments. Anyone know the most conference championships Hofstra has pulled down in a single year?

Re: Fall Sports
FH RPI has dropped down to 27th and is still unranked. MSOC sits at 22nd in the polls and 20th in RPI. Women's soccer looks to be slightly underrated in the polls. They're receiving 2 votes but are 25th in RPI. Volleyball's RPI has fallen down to 138th with those losses. I think we could see a handf...

Re: MBB recruits 2016
VCUfan brings up some good points here. Yes, we know that the Pride are on the upswing, and judging from W&M's boards, they might be a little concerned about it. But we haven't won anything, and until we prove that we can bring consistent success and exposure for potential recruits, we're not in...

Hey guys long-time lurker here, happy to be on board. If the visa issue is true, then I'm skeptical of Djambo's chances of playing for Hofstra. Unless he qualifies for an "extraordinary talent" visa, (which can expedite the process a bit) visas take a while, especially if something went wr...
