Re: Game 2 - @Duquesne, 11/13/21. 7 PM EST
I guarantee there are P5 coaches kicking themselves that they didn't take a closer look at this kid. He's the real deal.

Re: Game 2 - @Duquesne, 11/13/21. 7 PM EST
Dubar can play, but is Cramer in the doghouse or are they limiting his minutes because he's banged up? He definitely deserving of more time.

Re: Game 2 - @Duquesne, 11/13/21. 7 PM EST
Houston just demolished a supposedly decent Rice team by 33 points. Reading between the lines of the Chronicle preview I linked below, sounds like Ray has a pretty significant ankle injury -- maybe a high ankle sprain? https://www.thehofstrachronicle.com/category/sports/2021/11/8/new-look-pride-buil...

Re: MBB Recruits 2021
Pulling in a ton of Philly guys. Barrouk, Tomasco, now this kid. If Speedy can keep the NYC/NJ/Philly pipeline strong, we're in good shape. Don't know anything about Farmer, 6'3 is good size and it looks like he can shoot.

Re: Game 1 - @Houston, 11/9/21, 8 PM EST
Cooks and Estrada are the real deals, them and Ray together are going to be a nightmare matchup. Nobody on the team had more than 3 assists, really speaks to the lack of a true distributor, Ray will only help ball movement. Cramer is chaotic but when he's on the floor good things happen. It's not pr...

Re: Game 1 - @Houston, 11/9/21, 8 PM EST
I said I'd take a moral victory and yet I'm upset now. Incredible effort, lots to be proud of, but a classic Hofstra choke down the stretch, seen it a million times. Bizarre to not have the ball in Cooks' hands more often in the last two minutes, everyone else had a case of the butterfingers. Lots t...

Simmons being hurt is really going to underscore the lack of frontcourt depth, hope he's alright

No Ray and we're up 6 at the half. Not starting Cramer is interesting, Cooks looks like the real deal and then some. Team is going to be good.

Re: Game 1 - @Houston, 11/9/21, 8 PM EST
Houston has a bunch of vets returning, and the transfers they added are seasoned, decorated seniors. They're going to look good. I'm not big on moral victories but this is nonconference with a new coach and a million new players -- if we can even remotely hang, it's a moral victory. It's great to fa...

Re: JWF and Eli in 2021 NBA Summer League
The NBA has a bunch of contract types that are non-guaranteed or otherwise short-term...basically, if you aren't on the 15-man roster or on a "two-way" contract (this allows you to go between G-League and NBA and is only available to players in their rookie or 2nd year) you're on some kind...

Re: Transfers and Other Player News
Feels bizarre, huge step down in competition -- maybe a case where he thought there was a pro opportunity lined up, fell through, and then HU didn't have the scholarships left for him to return? Don't know enough about how the technicalities of a player who has graduated/officially moved on trying t...

Re: Men's Basketball Schedule 2021-2022
Agree completely with Polito. Ray alone is reason to be optimistic -- 1st team CAA, shouldered a big jump in usage last year with no efficiency drop. Cramer is a beast and could easily be a top-10 impact player in this league. Cooks, Iyiola and Estrada are proven high-level performers at the mid-maj...

Re: Transfers and Other Player News
I think Estrada is going to look great as a playmaking 3 -- at St. Peter's he drew a lot of fouls, could really pass the ball, high-usage guy. Then at Oregon it looks like they asked him to stand in the corner (3pt rate way up, usage way down, foul-drawing way down). Dubar should get plenty of swing...

Re: MBB Recruits 2021
Final score was 141-81. Hell with 91 points i'd be impressed if he was doing it against middle schoolers. That's a lot of buckets.

Re: MBB Recruits 2021
Like this pickup as a long-term developmental prospect and it's encouraging that Speedy continues to get guys from the Philly area who may end up being diamonds in the rough -- Barrouk, Tomasco...If you can pull from NYC/NJ/Philly you're going to be just fine in the recruiting department. Seems to h...

Re: Transfers and Other Player News
Yeah it's wishful thinking until we have more info...it's possible we aren't even in the conversation. I do think we make sense though. He'd get unlimited PT here with a strong cast of guards to feed him opportunities. I understand a mid-major isn't always at the top of these guys' lists, but they s...
