Re: MBB Recruits 2021

I bet we commit some big minutes and go get a high scoring transfer this offseason.

We have ~30 ppg to replace and will need to give Kramer/Green/Masic and the rest another season to develop into that level of contribution.

Our Offense 13 Games In

13 games in and I think it's time to accept that we may need to take a different approach to our offense to be successful with this roster... Defense has been better, but we still need to score more efficiently if our aspirations this season is a CAA championship. Like many on here have said, the 3 ...

Re: Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week

One of my favorite "What if" topics! People seem to forget how good Halil was his 1 year with us... the stats don't totally tell the story and he never prospered at St. Joes. He was a major factor on the court from day 1, with a gritty inside game and a soft touch in a 6'8'', wide frame. H...

Interesting nugget from this great KVonn Cramer article: https://www.cityofbasketballlove.com/news_article/show/1135625 "The interim head coach brought up the CAA’s Sixth Man of the Year award as a realistic goal for Cramer this season, and shows his budding star tape of former Archbishop Carro...

Re: MBB Coach's Report

Yeah agreed on all. It sounds like we should expect some frustrating, turnover laden games from both sides, which will be interesting. It's been said before, but it really plays into the mindset that those teams that return the most talent with the most experience should shine through. While we have...

Nate Darlings signs two-way with Charlotte Nathan Knight signs two-way with Atlanta That means in the last two seasons, the CAA has produced Six (!!) NBA players. That must be a record for the league? JWF to Utah Brantley to Utah Cacok to LA Riller to Charlotte Nate Knight to Atlanta Nate Darling to...

Agree with Polito's analysis... I think we have a real shot, with Pitt being the front runner.

Re: Extremely Intriguing State of CAA Article, a Must Read

Is the A-10 plausible? Great hoops, good travel partners, and a level we've proven we can compete at. Also, I'd think we'd want to put in another strong season in hoops and then move UP a major, rather than down to the MAAC or ASUN.

Interesting-- I read that as that we'll be playing Monmouth in OOC, not necessarily UMD. It looks like it's quoting King Rice, MU's head basketball coach.

To pull this back from my original comment that started the conversation, I wasn't trying to indicate that the anti-Semitic comment would be the sole reason he'd be let go this off-season. I was pointing out that, as a rookie on a 2-way contract, you don't want to pull any negative attention to your...

Possibly related-- did we talk about this at all on the boards? https://kutv.com/news/local/jazz-player-called-out-over-apparent-support-of-nick-cannons-anti-semitic-remarks I don't remember seeing anything, and I wasn't even aware of it until about a week ago. Re: Ot Nate Darling Delaware

I think forward-thinking players on the NBA draft/professional bubble would be smart to take the chance this year and go pro due to the uncertainty of this NCAA season. If you'd like to play basketball in 2020/2021, you'd have to believe that you have a statistically better chance to do so in a pro-...

Re: MBB Recruits 2020

It's been mentioned, but Buie is also a MAJOR reason our defense stepped up so dramatically last season, and that won't be easy to replace. I'm much less concerned about the 4 spot, and much more concerned about the PG spot and who will step up as the vocal leader of this team. With Buie's departure...

No one in the program had any idea of who Lovell Smith is...not even Speedy...he posted that picture/announcment on his own. 1. That's amazing. This kid is going full Kramer ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bU6m5UqLx9M ) and will be showing up to day 1 of practice hoping that no one says anything....

Re: Looking Ahead to 2020-2021 season

Thanks for this rundown!

Seems like LSU could have a serious squad, pending some transfers/NBA Draft decisions-- They have a top-10 recruiting class too which includes a 5-star PG who is the all time leading scorer in Oak Hill history.

Any of these other teams poised to be top of their conferences?

Good player, but can't play our stretch 4 role because he doesn't shoot the three.

I don't see him being a fit with the rotation we have.

Yeah this is borderline shocking. Starter on a talented team that is a heavy favorite to win its conference and go to the tourney next year. It seems like he has stars in his eyes, which is good for him-- It just feels like a very big calculated risk. Good news is, this makes next season a bit more ...

Any chance this is a "preferred walk-on" or something similar?

I'm just surprised that he's not on a single recruiting radar, especially due to the team and league he plays for.

Great accomplishment for Green.

What other (if any?) 1st team all-state selections have we landed out of HS in the past? Speedy? Eli?
