Re: MBB Roster for 2022-23

This is pretty tough. We'll survive, but it was nice to finally have some depth and opportunity at the position. I think CAA we'll still match up well, but I'm less excited about playing 7'4" Zach Edey and Purdue now lol.

Re: MBB Roster for 2022-23

This is all well and good. It assumes we will not add another player or that one or two listed may not be returning. My guess is that we add an experienced PG, almost like a Cooks for a one and done year. Classically, HUSID knows or sniffs things out a bit earlier than most. I read this and immedia...

Great stuff in here: https://phenomhoopreport.com/22-lual-manyang-returning-to-the-court-talks-latest-in-recruitment/ “I’m grateful to earn an offer from UCSB,” Manyang said. “UCSB likes my skill set and the impact I can bring to the game, as well as my height, effort, and energy. This is a really talented team.

Flowers was a teammate of Kante this year... 6'9'' and does it all.

Re: Ray in the 2022 Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship

Also fun to look back and realize just how great that 4 player team was and how much talent was in the CAA that year. Cacok is on the Spurs roster and won a championship with the Lakers, Brantley and JWF both had some decently legitimate NBA run with the Jazz and G-League, and Vasa is playing at a h...

Re: Hofstra vs. Charleston, Sunday, 3/6/22, 8:30 PM

Kramer transfer is a loss. I'm a big believer in the 4 out system from an offensive perspective, but I also think we could mold to Kramer's strengths and make him a solid 6th man who helps us get up and down the floor and play the dunker/roll man spot. With Kramer leaving this year and David Green (...

Re: Charles Jenkins Pep Talk

No doubt that Speedy spoke to Charles beforehand and told him what he'd like him to speak to. With that assumption, not hard to also assume that this team is having its fair share of leadership, communication, and work ethic issues behind the scenes. Charles seemed to go hard on trusting your teamma...

Re: MBB vs. Towson, Thursday, 2/3/22, 7 PM

A look at our Advanced Stats through last night's game, with an emphasis on win share per 40 minutes. Interesting insights here... Iyiola seems to be our unsung hero in winning games, which in hindsight, isn't hard to understand. He's handling a lot of the dirty work and anchoring our defense and re...

Re: Hofstra vs James Madison 1/9/22

Let's slow down on the JC being overrated takes... the kids a freshman with very little playing time on a team with three PGs in front of him on the depth chart. For every Charles Jenkins and Speedy Claxton, there are plenty of Loren Stokes and JWFs... they need year one to acclimate and develop. I'...

Re: Game 14 at William & Mary Wednesday December 29 at 7:00

Emotional Post Incoming... I'd rather play 4 on 5 then have Silverio out there another minute. Watching him drain that long 3 with less than 4 minutes left actually made me think "Oh No!" even after it went in... those made 3's will just be traded off with 10 more misses over the course of...

Re: MBB Recruits 2021

Based on just what we know now losing Cooks and Ray is HUGE. I CANNOT EVEN WRAP MY HEAD AROUND IT and really don't even want to think about it. I don't know what we can get with the rest of the players we have on the roster EG Carlos, Bethea and Barrouk. What's the status of Burgess? Would he be lo...

Re: Men's Basketball Schedule 2021-2022

My bet is that Speedy and Arkansas' coach, Eric Musselman, have a good relationship from when EM coached speedy in Golden State. Great example of how these potential connections can make a world of difference in scheduling.

Re: MBB Recruits 2021

This is incredible. He's dropping 3's all over the place.

The PSAL can't be THAT weak right? Didn't JWF and many of our other alums come from there?

Does this start to become a bigger nationwide story?

Re: MBB Recruits 2021

This is starting to remind me of another one of our past recruitments... SPEEDY! If I remember correctly (and tell me if I'm wrong), we grabbed his commitment before his senior year, at which point he skyrocketed up his output and pulled a LOT of big boy interest despite having an LOI with us. I'm n...

11 pts, 8 rebounds, and a block a game in 20 mpg at Stetson. Rode the bench last year for an ELITE 8 program and gained the experience that that comes with that. 6'9'' 230 lbs. On paper, this guy is a HUGE grab! Torn ACL last year is obviously a big concern, but he's had above and beyond recovery ti...

Re: MBB Recruits 2021

Seemed like speedy put a lot of thought into that rundown of returners... would be a very big "oops" if he just somehow forgot his all-league center. Not a good sign...

Let's hope we can bring in someone strong/very experienced at the position with all the center minutes we now have open

Re: So who will Speedy add to his staff

No inside info, but with Ray at the press conference today I think he is going to come back for another year. Assuming Carlos stays and no one transfers out they would have a very good team going into next year. This DID NOT get enough attention... No inside info here either, but having Ray there s...

Re: Transfers and Other Player News

There are a lot of fish in the transfer portal sea. And going to more transfers - more then any other year I suspect - at HU and throughout college basketball Maybe Ray is coming back and Masic did the math. Anyway - it is what it is. That's interesting... One would think that Masic would only leav...
