Re: MBB at Northeastern 1/21
Actually thought Defense was awful - allowed 45% FG's (50% from 3) Taylor made number of comments about HU running around trying to cover holes in their zone. Was glad when they switched to "man" but that was worse - Gustys couldn't cover anyone (he might have been gassed or trying not to ...

Re: Men's Basketball vs. James Madison On 1/16/2016 at 4:00
The story of this game was the officiating. Absolutely horrendous. Especially the short guy. I've seen him do Hofstra games before and it's the same garbage every time. He must have it in for Michalich or had JMU plus the points. Either way that officiating crew should not be employed, that was an ...

Re: Men's Basketball at College of Charleston on 1/7/2016
Just a horrendous display - especially on D - CC got wherever and whatever they wanted! Uncontested 3's or forays into the paint. Coach has no clue about Defense and neither do his players. Just awful!

Re: MBB vs. Sacred Heart - 12/28/15, 7 PM
Haven't been posting because although I've been attending all the games have to admit I'm thoroughly bored/disgusted with the team's play, OOC schedule, shot selection, lack of defense and coaching decisions regarding personnel. Other than that - all good! A number of the posts have been WRIGHT on p...

Re: MBB team photo
Disagree with above - Can never have enough front court depth. Guys get into foul trouble, get sick or hurt - never have enough bigs! He's close to 7' and can shoot - HU didn't bring him in for one year to play less than 10 mins a game. Now he's set back and unlikely to be a significant contributor....

Re: MBB recruits 2016
SUWANEE, Ga. - The Western Kentucky University basketball staff has offered a handful of players in the recent week, including a standout shooting guard from North Carolina. Team Felton 2016 guard Dondre Griffin reports WKU is one of his 12 scholarship offers. It's been a good two weeks for Dondre G...

Re: MBB recruits 2015
Hofstra offered DeAndre Hunter (along with a few others) HAlbeit perhaps not one of the first names that would catch your eye upon scanning the list of players to attend the NBPA Top 100 Camp, DeAndre Hunter more than proved he belonged. The Philadelphia showcased athleticism and competitive zeal du...

Re: 2015-2016 basketball roster
Any chance we can find someone 6'7" or bigger who can shoot facing the basket ? (like every other program in America) Would certainly open up the offense!

Re: Tom Pecora
Sry Z, guess I struck a chord, no offense meant bud TP teams had no offensive plan, NONE, and every single person on here (including YOU Z) had an issue with it, and rightly so - his lack of a real O cost them many a game, just the same as the lacking D cost JMs group plenty this yr My point was si...

Re: Tom Pecora
Evan, what does the point spread have to do with being down 25 in a championship game? I know UNCW was a good team, so what? A day earlier, Hofstra defeated a team that was about to go on a run to the FINAL FOUR. Maybe just maybe, Pecora allowed his team to keep in the back of their minds that they...

Re: Tom Pecora
ZMAN, I disagree with some of your points. He didn't leave the cupboard bare? He set the program back 2 years with his departure. He told Chaz and Halil to leave because they were "A-10" players. And he took his incoming class (Frazier, Dominique etc) with him. IMO, he could not have care...

Re: Tom Pecora
Last 6 years at HU Pecora 121-70 633 win % - Although my posts on this thread never mention "he was and would've been just fine" that's a damn good record! Actually that is and was fine! Also didn't leave the cupboard bare like Jay did (and I'm not killing him Coach Wright either). Fact re...

Re: Tom Pecora
Was just a matter of time, knew either this yr or next... Bad move bad place and bad job HU should be all over Paschal - comp will be tough but def go for him Z, you also were as hard on TP as anyone else while he was here (and rightly so in sme areas) - but now he was and would've been just fine? ...

Re: MBB Game 34 - CBI - Vermont - 3/18/15, 7 PM
In sharp contrast, 38 minutes for Bernardi, 35 for Green, 31 for Tanskey (and that's with two of those guys in foul trouble), as Tanskley, Green and Bernardi combine for 43 of Hofstra's 66 shots, while making only 11 collectively. Rokas meanwhile, 13 pts on 6-6 fg, but only played 16 minutes despit...
